Easter Events at Ballycroy National Park

It is no secret that we go to County Mayo in Ireland on holidays almost every year. Since Number One and Number Two have arrived at an age where we can go to a museum and not have to listen to “I’m sooooo boooorrred!” for the duration of the visit, we try to get to a few light-hearted and /or child-friendly museums on our holidays.  One of our favourites has to be the visitor centre at Ballycroy National Park.

I’ve mentioned lot of great things to do with children in Ireland on here before and Mayo features several times. Since writing that post, we’ve been back to Ireland a few times and we are now convinced that Ballycroy visitor centre is a must if you are in Mayo on holiday. Apart from being informative and interactive, there is always something going on. From themed walks in the National Park to children’s clubs in the school holidays, the team at Ballycroy cater really well to families of all ages and sizes. You can read what I said on that previously here but for the current activity programme, read on.

Not quite two years old but exploring everything at Ballycroy National Park

The team at Ballycroy National Park sent me their latest newsletter the other day. I subscribed after our first visit there so I can plan for our holidays each year. Anyway, the schedule for Easter is making me sorry we haven’t much lined up for our Easter break over here in Germany.

I haven’t been asked to spread the word or share this information. But since we have had such a good experience at Ballycroy and the landscape really is unique, I wanted to pass the tip on. So, here’s what’s on over the Easter holidays.  If you are in the area, drop in.
